The Forest Park Police Department is a dynamic, full-service, CALEA Accredited police organization comprised of 89 certified police officers. We are located in northern Clayton County nine miles south of the City of Atlanta. The city has an advantageous geographic location in the southern metropolitan region, having convenient access to Interstate 75 and Interstate 285 and adjacent to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

The Forest Park Police Department provides numerous special services that include: Special Operations, Criminal Investigations, Community Oriented Policing, Crime Scene Investigations, and Federal Task Force Assignments. New officers are assigned to one of four patrol teams and work 12 hour shifts with alternating days off. All uncertified police officers are required to complete Basic Mandate Training prior to being assigned to a 3 month Field Training Program.

Police Officers Pay: 

$40,803= Certified w/ Master's Degree
$39,285= Certified w/ Bachelor's Degree
$37,597 = Certified w/ Associates Degree
$36,753 = Certified w/ High School Diploma/GED
$35,146 = Non-certified (while in academy)
