Fire Safety House
The fire safety house is a mobile interactive classroom designed to teach youngsters about fire safety.  This two level portable classroom contains a miniature living room and bedroom and a full size kitchen mockup.  In addition to using visual aids to emphasize fire safety practices in the home, children can experience a simulated fire and see just what it is like to escape from a burning house. The simulated smoke used in the fire safety house is safe and non-toxic providing for conditions that would be encountered in a fire but not the dangers.  Trained fire service personnel who administer the training and monitor the youngsters during their tour supervise the fire safety house.  Already schools, daycare centers and community groups have taken advantage of this unique mobile teaching tool.  In the three years it has been in operation thousands of children have had the opportunity to receive and benefit from this training.

If your organization would like to have the fire safety house participate in your community event or if you would like us to come to your school or day care center, you may contact the Forest Park Fire Marshal’s Office at the following numbers.  All requests must be made at least within 2 weeks of the event.
