SEPTEMBER 27-30, 2006 – State Senior Olympics – Held at Warner Robins , Georgia . You must have registered by August 1, 2006. Open to all Seniors 50 years and older.
OCTOBER 7, 2006 – Community-Wide Yard Sale – Take the hassle out of planning your own yard sale. Join us at the Forest Park Recreation Center for our annual Autumn Community Yard Sale. We do the advertisement. Bring your friends and family for a day of bargain hunting. “One man's junk is another's treasure”. Saturday, October 7, 2006 9am-2pm at Starr Park . 10'x10' Booth rentals are available.
Cost: $10/Residents - $20/Nonresidents

 OCTOBER 21, 2006 – International Autumn in the Park Festival Saturday 10am-6pm. This event will get everyone into a festive autumn spirit. You may choose from a variety of activities, arts and crafts, food, games, entertainment and much much more. This event is held in Starr Park .

OCTOBER 28, 2006 – 5K Fun Run/Walk – Ready, Set, Go! Individuals young and old, fast and slow make tracks through the streets of Forest Park . The finishers in each category proudly display t-shirts and other awards.
Fee: $10 Senior Citizens; $15 per person in advance; $20 per person Race Day.
 OCTOBER 31, 2006 – Magic of Halloween – Join us at the Forest Park Recreation Center 6pm-8pm for an evening of Halloween fun. Wear your costumes and join the other ghosts and goblins in our costume contest. There will be games, snacks, and plenty of tricks and treats for the spirited children ages 2-12 years old.
Fee: 50¢ per child
 NOVEMBER 10, 2006 – Veterans Day Celebration – Veterans Day Ceremonies will be held at the Forest Park Senior Center , Friday, November 10, 2006 at 10am. Those wishing to add the name of a loved one or friend to the memorial walk should contact Mary Ann Connelly at the Forest Park Recreation Department at 404-608-2350.
 NOVEMBER 27, 2006 – Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting – Monday, November 27, 2006 at 6:30pm. Start your holiday season right – join in the parade down Main Street to Starr Park where we have the Tree Lighting. The park will be ablaze with colors and sounds of the season for all to enjoy. Begin the holiday season with these warm wishes, hot cocoa, sing-a-longs and a visit by Ole Saint Nicholas.
NOVEMBER 28 - DECEMBER 25, 2006 – Christmas in the Park – Recorded music nightly. Come see the park, light up dancing bears, reindeers and much more.
DECEMBER 1, 2006 – Pictures with Santa – Will be held on Friday, December 1, 2006 6pm-8pm at the Forest Park Senior Center , 5087 Park Drive . The cost of the package is $15. You may bring your own camera and take your own photo.
 DECEMBER 5 & 7, 2006 – Phone Calls From Santa – We at Forest Park Recreation & Leisure Services Department have a direct line to Santa and he asked us to make sure we have the names and numbers of all the children who would like a phone call this year. Sign-ups begin November 1, and will be taken until November 30, 2006. Calls will be made December 5 th and December 7 th . To sign up, parents come by the Recreation Center to complete the application.
DECEMBER 9, 2006 – Breakfast with Santa 8:30am-10:30am – Cost is $2 for children 12 years and under, $2.50 for adults. The breakfast will be held at the Forest Park Senior Center located at 5087 Park Avenue , Forest Park . Tickets are available at the Senior Center in advance or at the door.
FEBRUARY 28, 2007 – Youth Basketball Coaches Game – Wednesday, starting at 6pm – Recreation gymnasium – March of Dimes benefit.
