Mission:
The mission of Recreation & Leisure Services is to provide the leadership and services that promotes a healthy environment and to promote and meet the needs and interest of the community through recreational and leisure activities at an affordable range. Also, to ensure fun and enjoyment in organized recreational activities that encourage positive community values.
Responsibilities:
To meet the needs of our community by offering programs in the following areas:
athletics
senior citizen activities
youth activities
aquatics, educational
creative
entertainment
wellness
specialty camps
day camps
social and park development
Parks:
The City boast proudly of our main park area which is one of the center points of our city. This 18 acre park adjacent to the Recreation Building includes: an outdoor lighted tennis court, lighted sand volleyball court, three picnic pavilions, barn style stage, a walking/jogging track with night lighting, outdoor pool, lighted miniature golf course, horseshoe pits, tiny-tot and children's playground, five lighted baseball/softball fields, concession stands, restrooms, lighted football stadium with seating for 2000 spectators, and a Senior Citizens building.
