Funds are requested to be appropriated for equipment for the Fire
Department. The funds for the equipment
(evacuator communicators) in the amount of $9,200 are provided through a
Homeland Security Grant. The purpose of
the equipment is to help the City prepare for and react to acts of terrorism.
13. Consider an Ordinance by the Governing
Body for the City

Forest Park, Georgia, to designate a name by which the Governing Body shall
transact business as the City’s Redevelopment Agency pursuant to the Georgia
“Redevelopment Powers law”, O.C.G.A. §§ 36-44-1 Et Seq., to Wit: “The Development Authority of the City of
Forest Park, Georgia”; to provide for severability; to repeal all Ordinances
and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith; to provide an effective date; and
for other purposes
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:
This Ordinance identifies a name for the governing body to act under
when it is functioning as the redevelopment agency and transact business.

Park, Georgia, to transfer funds held under the name of the Industrial
Development Authority of the City of Forest Park to an account in the name of
“The Development Authority of the City of Forest Park, Georgia”; to repeal all
Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith; to provide an
effective date; and for other purposes

This Ordinance allows the Director of Finance to transfer funds from the
Industrial Development Authority to the newly created “Development Authority of

Park, Georgia, to repeal previously adopted Ordinances and Resolutions
creating, activating, or providing for the City to be a part of: (1) the
“Development Authority for the City of Forest Park, Georgia”, (2) the “Downtown
Development Authority, City of Forest Park”, and (3) the “Redevelopment
Authority of Clayton County”; to provide for severability; to repeal all
Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith; to provide an effective
date; and for other purposes
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:
This Ordinance repeals all of the old authorities that are no longer
functioning and allows the City Attorney to have them removed from the State
Register.

Consider a Resolution requesting authorization to enter into
a
contract with Thomas R. Gissy, Real Estate Appraiser
and Consultant to provide cost estimates for the Sidewalks to Schools, Phase
III and Transit Oriented Pedestrian Improvements Projects
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:
This Resolution is requesting authorization for the Mayor to enter into
a contract with Thomas R. Gissy, Real Estate
Appraiser and Consultant, to provide cost estimates for the easements needed
for sidewalk projects.

Consider a Resolution by the Mayor and City Council of
Forest
Park, Georgia to apply for HUD funding through the Community Development Block
Grant program (CDBG) for Curb and Gutter, Sidewalks, and Storm Water Piping on
various streets in the Sidewalks to Schools, Phase I and Phase II projects and to accept the HUD funding
through the CDBG program once it becomes available and for other lawful
purposes
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:
This resolution is requesting authorization to apply for Community
Development Block Grant funding for streetscape improvements on various streets
in the Sidewalks to Schools, Phase I & II projects.
19.Consider an Ordinance to appropriate funds in the amount
not
to exceed $30,000.00 from the unappropriated balance
of the General Fund, and to authorize the Execution of a Contract with United
Consulting Group, Ltd. for the purpose of conducting a Phase I and Limited Phase
II Environmental Assessment of City owned property located at 775 Main Street
and 861 Main Street; to provide for severability; to repeal conflicting
ordinances; and for other purposes
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND: City owned property scheduled for
demolition will need a Phase I and a limited Phase II Environmental Assessment
