2. Consider an Ordinance by the City Council for the City of

Forest Park, Georgia, to amend Ordinance No. 05-24 establishing a Planning Local Redevelopment Authority so as to approve and authorize the Board of Directors of the Authority to incorporate the authority as a Georgia nonprofit corporation; upon certain terms and conditions as provided for herein; to provide for severability; to repeal all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith; to provide an effective date; and for other purposes

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND: This is an ordinance to approve the incorporation of the Forest Park/Ft. Gillem Local Planning Redevelopment Authority under the Georgia Nonprofit Corporation Code and Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All of the members of the Board of Directors for the new corporation (except the Mayor and City Manager, who are members by virtue of their offices) will continue to be appointed by the Mayor and Council, for such terms as the Mayor and City Council may establish.
