a Public Hearing to receive comments regarding the proposed use of funds from
the JAG Grant , Award Year 2009
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND: As
part of the special conditions
of this JAG grant the City of Forest Park will hold a Public Hearing prior to the obligation of funds. The hearing
will be held regarding the proposed use of funds from this grant to local law enforcement in
relation to the agency’s entire budget.
Persons attending the
hearings shall be given the opportunity to provide
written and oral views of the Forest Park Police Department in relation
to both the entire budget and the relationship
to the grant to the entire budget.
The
grant amount is $110,688 with no matching funds required by the City of
The
Forest Park Police Department intends to utilize the funding for the primary
purpose of upgrading the operations division.
The addition of equipment purchased through this grant will improve the
Forest Park Police Departments ability to deter criminal activity.
The proposed expenditure
is allowable under the CFDA 16.804 – Recovery
Act – Justice Assistance Grants

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND: The Roll Off Container Business under sanitation is better than
originally estimated. Additional revenues estimating
around $55,000 is expected through June. Additional funds are
needed in an amount of $35,000 for payments to Waste Management to cover the
additional business expenses. These funds would come from the Sanitation Fund.

Council for the City of
Forest Park, Georgia, to authorize the acquisition and purchase of certain Real Estate in the City
for purchase price of the appraised value; to provide for temporary funding of
said purchase from the General Fund; to provide for reimbursement to the
General Fund from funds received from the “SPLOST” tax in 2009; to provide for
severability; to repeal all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith; to provide an effective date; and for other purposes
13. Consider an Ordinance by the Mayor and
City Council for the City of Forest Park, Georgia to impose a temporary
moratorium within the City for up to forty six days on the acceptance of
applications for the permitting of, and on the permitting of, “Adult
Entertainment Establishments”, as defined herein and in the City Code of Ordinances;
to provide for the purposes of the Moratorium, to provide for findings of fact,
to provide for the Imposition of the Moratorium and for the duration of the
moratorium for up to forty six (46) days; to provide for severability; to
provide an effective date; to repeal all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in
conflict herewith to the extent of such conflict; and for other purposes
