Park Authorizing the Mayor to execute a License Agreement with Forest Park
Braves for the Use of Lockhart Field from April 7, 2009 through September 30,
2009 to conduct Semi-Pro Baseball games; to provide for severability; to
provide an effective date; and for other purposes
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND: The Forest Park Braves are
requesting use of Lockhart Field and concession stand April 7, 2009 through
September 30, 2009 to conduct Semi-Pro Baseball games and practice. Practices are Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Games are Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5
p.m. The License Agreement is revocable

Park authorizing the Mayor to sign and accept a
Community Economic Adjustment Planning Assistance Grant for Calendar Years 2008
and 2009 from the Department of Defense office of Economic Adjustment for the
purpose of preparing an Outreach and Comprehensive Reuse Plan for Fort Gillem
and to appropriate the matching funds from the transfer to LRA fund Line Item
100-22-1510-61-1006; to provide for severability; to repeal all Ordinances and
parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith; to provide an effective date and for
other purposes

Park, Georgia to transfer certain funds from one set of Line Items to a
different set of Line Items in the F.Y. 2008-2009 Budget, as provided herein;
to repeal all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith; to
provide an effective date; and for other purposes
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND:
The Local Redevelopment Authority (LRA) activity should be reported as
separate fund for accounting purposes.
The Ordinance allows the budget line items for the LRA to be moved from
the General Fund to a separate LRA Fund.

an Ordinance by the City Council of the City of Forest Park, Georgia, to
appropriate funds in the amount of $150,000
from the unappropriated balance in the General
fund in order to provide for the demolition of various structures on City owned
properties located on Main Street and within the City’s Downtown Redevelopment
Area; to provide for severability; to repeal conflicting Ordinances; and for
other purposes
SUMMARY AND
BACKGROUND: Locations of city properties on Main
Street and within our Redevelopment District are in need of demolition for
safety reasons as well as Redevelopment purposes. Two of the properties involve underground
storage tank remediation through EPA and one with asbestos abatement. Some others will be handled by City crews. Disposal costs, equipment rentals or
remediation and demolition contractors.
The requested $150,000.00 from the unappropriated
balance of the General Fund will be placed in the Redevelopment Line Item
#100-51-7324-54-1100 for demolition of those properties.

Cities Week, April 19-25, 2009 and encouraging all citizens to support the
celebration and corresponding activities
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND: The Georgia Municipal Association is
sponsoring Georgia Cities Week April 19-25, 2009 to showcase and celebrate cities
and the many services they provide.
Georgia Cities Week is part of an on-going effort to raise public
awareness about the services that cities perform and to educate the public on
how city government works.
