VIII.      Open Public Hearing to receive comments in regard to a proposed Conditional Use permit, to operate a Personal Care Home in a residential home filed by Ramona Wallace (1765 Jajef Avenue, Conley, GA) and Dan Griffen (220 Ivey Oaks Way, Roswell, GA) owner of 4425 Burks Road

 

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND: Ramona Wallace, President of Amber Personal Care Home has filed a petition with the City for a Conditional Use Permit. The Conditional Use Permit is being sought to allow a 24-hour personal care home for up to four (4) unrelated persons within a single family residential home located at 4425 Burks Road, Forest Park.

 

The Planning and Zoning Board held a Public Hearing on this issue on March 5, 2008 and unanimously voted to recommend denial of the Conditional Use Permit.

3. Consider request for a Conditional Use Permit to operate a

Personal Care Home filed by Ramona Wallace at 4425 Burks

Road.

 

4.      Consider an Ordinance by the City Council for the City of

Forest Park, Georgia to authorize the use of asst forfeiture funds in the amount of $28,453.00 to be added to the budget for purchase of equipment for the Police Department; and to appropriate additional funds in the amount of $80,000.00 to purchase equipment for the Police Department; to repeal all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith; to provide an effective date; and for other purposes

 

5.      Consider an Ordinance by the City Council for the City of

Forest Park, Georgia, to amend the Code of Ordinances of the City, so as to provide that the amount of certain fees, taxes,

Assessments and penalties contained in said Code shall be established by the City Council from time to time in a single Ordinance; to provide for severability; to repeal all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith; to provide an effective date; and for other purposes

 

6.      Consider an Ordinance by the City Council for the City of

Forest Park, Georgia, to amend Title 3 of the Code of Ordinances of the City, so as to provide for the establishment by the Governing Body of rates for fees, taxes, assessments

 

and penalties; to provide for severability; to repeal all Ordinances an parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith; to provide an effective date; and for other purposes

 

7.      Consider Line Item Transfer from Department of Support

Services - $1,500 from Line Item 100-25-1540-53-1604 (Office Improvements) to Line Item 100-25-1540-52-2202 (Computer Equipment Maintenance) to cover cost of setting up new computers at Support Services

 

8.      Consider Line Item Transfer from Department of Fire/EMS

$2,500.00 from Line Item 100-60-3610-52-2203 (EMS Equipment Maintenance) to Line Item 100-60-3610-53-1703 (First Aid/Medical Supplies) to cover needed consumable EMS supplies.

9.      Consider a Resolution by the City Council of the City of

Forest Park Authorizing the Mayor execute a License Agreement with Forest Park Braves for the use of Lockhart Field from March 18, 2008 to August 31, 2008 to conduct Semi-Pro Baseball Games; to provide for severability; to provide an effective date; and for other purposes

 

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND: The Forest Park Braves are requesting use of Lockhart Field and concession stand March 18, 2008 through August 31, 2008 to conduct Semi-Pro Baseball games. See attached for game dates. The License Agreement is a revocable License Agreement and specifications for the use of City of Forest Park facilities and vending concessions and includes liability insurance, general release, indemnification and hold harmless provisions.

 

10. Consider a Resolution by the City Council of the City of

Forest Park authorizing the Mayor execute a License Agreement with Forest Park Youth Football for the use of Kiwanis Stadium, Lopez Field, Burke Field, Stanford Field and Baker Field from May 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008 to conduct Football and Cheerleading practices and games in their Georgia Youth Football program; to provide for severability; to provide an effective date; and for other purposes

 

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND: Forest Park Youth Football has requested use of Kiwanis Stadium May 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008 to conduct football and cheerleading practices and games. See attached dates. The License Agreement is a revocable License Agreement and specifications for the use of City of Forest Park facilities and vending concessions and includes liability insurance, general release, indemnification and hold harmless provisions.

 

11. Consider a Resolution by the City Council for the City of

Forest Park, Georgia, authorizing the Mayor to execute the

Memorandum of Understanding for the Clayton County Archway Partnership Project; to provide an effective date; and for other purposes

 

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND: The University of Georgia has offered Clayton County the opportunity to become an Archway Partnership Project Community. The Clayton County Archway Partnership Project will focus on community and economic development issues for Clayton County. The City of Forest Park financial contribution to the Archway Partnership Project is $5,000.00. This resolution requests authorization for the Mayor to enter into and execute the Memorandum of Understanding for the Clayton County Archway Partnership Project.
