Program improves traffic safety, cuts costs and delivers convenience for motorists Forest Park is the latest department to join the state’s GEARS (Georgia Electronic Accident Reporting System) program. The move will lead to more cost effective, timely and accurate filing of crash reports in Forest Park , while at the same time providing easy online access to those reports for involved parties. With GEARS, safety officials can pinpoint problem areas and take action to improve road safety in those areas. Read More » Main Street RedevelopmentPlans are currently being implemented to completely recompose portions of the ‘Main Street’ area of downtown Forest Park. Improvements will include new street lights, sidewalks, landscaping and other infrastructure improvements. Estimated completion on the project is set for sometime in mid 2011. The City of Forest Park is now using CODERED Emergency Notification System and it is an ultra high-speed telephone communication service for emergency notifications and the distribution of information considered to be important. Learn More » The Recycling Center continues to be open for your convenience Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until noon. You may bring paper goods including newspaper, magazines, phone books, and cardboard as well as metals, plastics, aluminum, and appliances. If you do not want to put your small yard debris in the paper recycle bags, you may always bring them and your longer limbs (limited no bigger in diameter than 4†and one pickup truck load) to the Recycling Center free.
